By Kim Tae-jong Staff Reporter An anti-poverty concert by local and international musicians will take place tomorrow at Ehwa Womans University in Seoul. Co-organized by MBC television’s music program Wednesday Art Stage and Korean NGO’s Network Against Global Poverty, the concert will invite musicians to the stage of the Welch-Ryang Auditorium in the university at 5 p.m. to deliver a message to demand an end to poverty. The musicians joining the concert include local musicians and bands Wheesung, Kim Kwang-min, Gummy Drunken Tiger, T, Lena Park, Common Ground, Second Moon, and Japanese new age musician Isao Sasaki. The event also aims to promote ``White Band Day,’’ a campaign to encourage people to wear a white wristband to raise awareness about widespread poverty across the world and draw the government’s attention to poverty. Initiated by the Global Call to Action against Poverty, the campaign commemorates its second edition today. The third edition falls on Dec. 10. To celebrate the second ``White Band Day,’’ 12 lawmakers from three parties will also work as a goodwill ambassador of the campaign. They include Kim Sung-gon of the ruling Uri Party, Na Kyung-won of the largest opposition Grand National Party and Choi Soon-young, minor opposition Democratic Labor Party. Before the concert starts, volunteers from NGOs will hold an event to promote the meaning of the concert and ``White Band Day.’’ The concert will air through Wednesday Art Stage on MBC at 1 a.m. on Dec. 15.
